10,000 BC and the fall of Atlantis

I haven’t added to my blog in awhile and after reading (well rereading) Flower of Life Volume 1 tonight, my muse decided it was time to write something new.

The film 10,000 BC stars Steven Strait, whom portrays a hunter-gatherers from a tribe called the Yagahl, and the gorgeous Camilla Belle, an orphan who was found by the Yagahl tribe when she was a child. Strait’s character is in love with Belle and when she’s kidnapped by kidnappers (is that alliteration at it‘s finest or what?!?) he heroically follows her to the ends of the Earth…or at least…to Egypt.

Where we find Woolly Mammoths (just like the ones in the cartoon Ice Age!) pushing large square blocks up ramps for the building of the Great Pyramid. Now, this is nowhere near how the Great Pyramids were built. In fact, it has been theorized that we ourselves don’t have the technology to build the wondrous sacred wonders (more alliteration baby!). But maybe it’s because the Mammoths are extinct…ever think of that Chris!!

Enough talking to myself…

Now this bogusness actually advances the plot, and the point to this rant, as the reason behind all the kidnappings is that the ruthless tyrant of Egypt needs more slaves to build the Great pyramid. Which is why Camilla Belle’s character and many of the other young Yagahl men have been brought to Egypt. The key to it all is that the ruthless tyrant is in fact refered to as an ATLANTEAN…from ATLANTIS…

Now, I’m not going to go into great detail about Atlantis but I will give you a little background information that makes this bit of genius hidden in the so-so movie, 10 000BC, rather synchronistic.

According to ancient legends and texts, something happened on Atlantis that sunk it to the bottom of the sea. The usual story is that the Atlanteans were so far advanced that their technology that they lost control of it and destroyed themselves. We tend to use the that part of the legend as a guiding principle for our own morality with technology.

Anywho, What happened next is something that’s less known and even less talked about.

When Atlantis sunk, the Atlanteans didn’t actually go “down with the ship“, but instead traveled to different parts of the globe segregating with the local culture. Some went to South America (Macchu Picchu), others went to the Mayan Riviera (Mayan Pyramids are very similar to the Great Pyramids, Crystal Skulls), a group went to Tibet (Dalai Lama) and then finally some settled in…

Egypt!

Dun-Dun-Dunnnnn!!!
